Support

Wormies is made by worms who love to read and enjoy coffee. Everything for purchase in the app is under the cost of a cup of coffee. The worms would appreciate any support!

Email support@wormies.app and a worm will write back, usually within a day or two. In the app, Me → Support Wormies shows your usage, packs and the tip jar.

Frequently asked

Which books work?

Any book file without DRM: EPUB (including Kobo's KEPUB), Kindle MOBI, AZW3 and PRC files, FictionBook (FB2), PDF, plain text and Markdown. That covers DRM-free stores and publishers (Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, Tor, Baen, Humble Bundle), the Kindle and Kobo titles whose publishers sell without DRM, Calibre libraries, your own manuscripts and PDFs from anywhere. Kindle, FictionBook and text files are converted to EPUB on your device the first time you open them. Wormies never removes DRM; it compares fingerprints so everyone in the club reads their own legitimate copy.

Where do I put my books?

Anywhere the Files app can see: iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, Dropbox, Google Drive. In Wormies, connect a folder once and the app keeps it up to date, or import single files.

My copy says 'different'. Can I still join?

Yes. Progress shows as approximate and notes re-anchor by their quoted text. If everyone can get the same file, exact match is best.

What does the Spoiler Shield hide?

Any note from a club member that sits ahead of where you are in the book. It is on by default, and you can peek at hidden notes one at a time or turn the shield off in the toolbar.

Who starts a session?

Any member can open one, and the club owner starts the reading. Every session begins in a waiting room where members pick their copy and chat; positions and notes are shared from the moment the owner presses Start reading.

What is free and what costs money?

Reading, joining clubs and joining sessions are always free. Each account can create 5 clubs and start 10 sessions for free; packs of 5 more clubs or 10 more sessions are $1.99 each. Tips are optional.

How do I report or block someone?

Open a note and choose Report from its menu, touch and hold a message or a reply and choose Report, or tap the flag on a surprise. To block or report a member, open their page from the club's Worms and use the menu at the top. Blocked members' notes, messages and surprises disappear for you; unblock them in Me → Account & privacy. We review every report within 24 hours.

How do I leave a club?

Open the club and choose Leave club from the menu at the top. An owner first makes another member the owner from that member's page; an owner who is the only member deletes the club by leaving.

How do I delete my account?

Me → Account & privacy → Delete account, then confirm with Apple. Your profile, memberships, reading log, shelf, backups and devices are removed within 24 hours; your notes, replies, messages and surprises stay in their clubs, credited to a deleted member.
